Future Housing Developments To Reduce Barriers to Housing.

The vacant land lot on 4 acres is reserved for an Apartment Complex with a Community Center, and Corporate Office in a gated community with 24-hour Security Guards, and on-site Manager that will be our "Career Campus" housing with two, three story  apartment buildings, each with 18 apartments with six on each floor for 72 men, and 72 women totaling 144 single unit occupancy for young adults 16-25 years old.  Adjacent to this lot (pictured above) is one and a half acres that need to be purchased to construct one or two more building that would accommodate more people.

This site is located in central Bakersfield California within walking distance to the mall, movie theatre, shopping centers, grocery stores, the Fair Grounds, schools, and transit-friendly area.

 

This program is for youth transitioning from foster care, homelessness, displacement, and prison interesting in living and becoming independent.  A Supervised  Independent Living program which offers minimum assistance.

Job Readiness:  Learn what employers' expectations are, resume' writing and interviewing techniques, how to explore apprenticeships, internships, and entrepreneurial opportunities, exposure to various career fields, and how to stay motivated and reach goals.

Career and Education Development:  Learn how to assess skills, strengths, and weaknesses through assessment tests.  Assistance with filing out job and college applications, attending job and college fairs, and taking placement tests.

Gang and Pregnancy Prevention:  Address risk factors, disruptive behaviors, peer pressure, how to prevent unplanned pregnancies, and keeping your body healthy from sexually transmitted diseases.

Basic Computer Training:  Learn how to use software, conduct research on the internet, and how to use Social Media Accounts to their advantage.

Money Management:  Learn how to budget and manage their money, prepare a budget sheet with expenses, cost effective ways to save and invest money, how to build and repair credit, and how to make healthy financial decisions.

We own two vacant land lots in Ridgecrest, California in a higher-income residential neighborhood.​  This site is two standard residential lots.  Both lots are reserved for people 40-up, veteran, and disabled for a total of 8 persons minimum for a single story home, and one accessory dwelling unit which is a two story, two bedroom on each lot as a rental unit.  One Accessory Dwelling unit would be for the Apartment Manager.
